Simply Reminiscin': High School Life

Let's take a trip down memory lane...

As what I've said in the previous page I really feel very lucky to have found friends like YOU. It is somethin' worth lookin' forward to. Think about this: when you wake up in the morning and you know that a lot of people loves you and cares about you. Can you afford to frown and let those eyebrows raised even if you woke up in the wrong side of the bed? Whew! In my case, I bet not.

Now let me put this straight. :) This page is specially provided for my very, very special high school buddies. My friends who contributed a lot in what I am right now. I'm not sayin' that I have achieved a lot of things but I believe in my own little way I have. And one of the top reasons for that- is because I have many friends who have been very supportive to me through the years. I know this page wouldn't be enuff to let you know how grateful I am for having friends like you. But anyways...

To the CGFI (Crazy Guyz Foundation Inc.), I thank you all very much. For all those funny, not-so-funny, weird and smart memories... You made 'em! I know I wouldn't be as jolly and "funny" as what I am right now... You taught me how to laugh when everything seems so bad. LIFE was absolutely FUN (well, pardon me but we don't know the word "cool" when we were still in high skewl, I should have used that:-) with you around.

My pretty friends who call themselves SHADE AGO DJ ... Hmnn... Can you still recall that? Well, that stands for Sheilah, Hazel (that's me, k? I just added "le" to my name when I started travellin' in cyberspace L-O-L!), Ava, Dinie and Eden -- and the next 5 letters refer to their other names.

Well, what should I say? All of these friends o' mine are becomin' more goodlookin' as years passed by. Truth is: I can hardly recognize them. Pardon me 'k? But I'll be placin' things here as far as what my MEM (memory) gives me, k? I'm not much into networkin' with these pretty girl friends o' mine... we're still plannin' to put up one big international networkin' entity for the POWER Batch '91 of Mindanao State University. We'll be workin' on that sooner, k?

Lemme start with the "S" of the group. Sheilah is workin' in the municipality of Alabel. She's the boss there... 'tho I'm not really sure what department. :) Anyways, our batch will always remember her as the one and only "baby" in their family. Hey, I hope you're not mad at me, Shei. :)

So who's next? Ava. She's as pretty as ever. My hyper co-officer in CAT. I bet she's in the noblest profession: teaching. But 'til now I don't know much about her- particularly her lovelife. She prefers to keep it a secret... Hmnn... The question now: How long would that secret last? l-o-l (laughin out loud)!

If I can still recall back in our Sophomore year... I was taller than her and we were just surprise when we entered our Junior year and she was very much ahead of us (in terms of height!). How did that happen? And when we asked her about her secret- she told us: she drinks plenty of water. Oohh... We never knew water has that growth power. Anyways, we tried it, but it didn't work for us. Sorry... Btw, Dinie used to be Ms. Makati, now she's Ms. Ortigas... how's that? :)

Now, how could I ever forget my long time cute (she defines that word as "fair and fat", 'hope I remember it right...l-o-l!) bestfriend. I really don't know why on earth she had the patience to listen to my wistful stories... We were still in Grade 4 then. While waiting for our parents to pick us up, we'd talk and talk- and I never thought I was that good in makin' up stories... and 'was very articulate too. While the truth was: I always consider myself as a listener rather than a talker. But in our case, t'was kinda different.
But as the saying goes: "if there's one thing that remains constant that is change in itself." When we reach high school, Eden was the one who did a lot of talkin'(and we don't have much choice than to listen...l-o-l! Just kiddin'). She's really a good speaker. Her guts and musical talents are just few of the many things we admire in her. She's got it all!

Eden is the youngest in our Batch, and they say "the bravest"; "the first one to tie the knot." :) She's presently in the US with David. I bet she's very happy with her own life now... Eden, We're sorry 'coz we can't come on your child's baptismal party... Wishin' you and your FAMILY the BEST!

What about CHRISHNART and the ROGEYBEL? They will always be my cool friends... So where is Christye "Tetet"? I bet she's still playin' it cool in the largest city in the country, the city of Eagles. Ronna is pursuin' Medicine, oh boy she just have the "it". I can always remember Ronna the way she laughs... a real laughter, not an ounce of pretense and inhibition. Those last 2 words were not just in her vocabulary. And what about the Top Debater of the Year- Sharon Hope? She's studyin' right now in Aussie... Her counterpart: Gerald Faciol aka "Prog2", now an Engineer. Oh boy, he made it to Top 11! Who's the other one? Naya, the math whiz is also a top Electrical Engineer in Iligan. Theresa is also pursuin' the noblest profession- that of a teacher. I bet these girls do not have any plan of settling down. Or am I just not updated on their whereabouts... Anyways, let's just wait and see... as the saying goes: "silent waters run deep." We can never tell, right? Btw, we won 2nd Place in our experiment in Science exhibit.

September 1986. T'was when I found my new group of friends. We call it the RAGE2. Composed of Roleen Grace, Alona (the "4 ever cutie", Girlie Christine (the "runner"), Emelyn (the "pitcher"; softball champ and Ms. Beautiful Girl '91) and Edna, the Class Valedictorian. I can still recall how we spent our free time munchin' those green mangoes...

With my high school buddies in MSU Kuya Bernskie , that's how younger students call him. That's how I call him, too. 'Just don't ask me why, k? Anyways, if you'll just gimme that look then I better tell you the truth. We're the BEST of FRIENDS. Some of you may be aware of it, others simply ignore it. But we've always shared that special friendship. He's like my older brod who keeps me company and I've been always his constant listener whenever he needed to pour his thoughts, fantasies, ambitions and even dreams. We were always there for each other... t'was back in highschool. We're just very good friends. Nothing more than that. He's such a very smart, witty and dynamic fellow. Maybe we simply share a lot of great things in common which made us closer to each other. But I tell ya': some people are really good as FRIENDS, that's the way we were and that's how it's gonna be. I'm sure I'm not the only MSUan who's proud of him.

Bernard, wherever the road of life may take you, always remember that our FRIENDSHIP will always be there. Thanks for makin' me feel important. You're such a very good friend, a buddy and a big brother to me. As the over used phrase goes: "words are not enough to express how I feel." The best things in life are not merely seen by the naked eyes nor can it be heard from a distance, but most of them are felt by the heart. IWABTFY.

To Joel, aka "Balong", our youngest buddy, our Batch is very proud of you for makin' it to Top 4 of the Occupational Therapist Board Exam. Congatulations! You deserve all the BEST things in life. 'Hope you'll eventually find your Ms. Right. Hmnn... I remember when we're still in our junior year and we both attended that COLT (Cadet Officers Leadership Training) in Calumpang. Everybody was thinkin' that he's my older brod 'coz we have the same surnames (and maybe modesty aside, we're both goodlookin' hahaha!:-D). Obviously, ('thoI know he doesn't want to hear this: I look younger *l-o-l*) Pls. don't get mad at me, k? I know you feel the same.... :-) Anyways, just kiddin'... But I tell ya' he was kinda annoyed that time, that he brought that guy in front of me and commandin' me to tell that guy that he's not my older brod, 'coz we're not even relative. That was it!

The Tom Cruise of the group: Belteshazzar aka "Bilog". He's now in Malaysia, takin' up Masters in Law and busy earning big bucks. Keep goin, Bilog! So how's everythin' goin'on there? I hope we're not bein' too nosy but have you found the girl of your dreams? Let us know, k? Don't worry you will hear no objections from us...:)l-o-l!

What about Mario aka "Cocoy"... I've had fond mem'ries of him. I'm not sure if he can still recall them. But he's such a very nice, smart and lovable fellow. He loves pourin' out his true feelings to his few true friends... He's one of my best buddies. Coy, 'wish you the coolest things in life. You simply deserve them...if you have the Lea Salonga look alike and Ms. Close Up - what else could you ask for? Goodluck!

The McGees (I'm not sure if I spelled it right, anyways feel free to send your comments, k?)- who would ever forget these beauty, brains & "bread" babes? Hmnn... Just ignore the last one, k? Anyways, Rosebeth aka "Betot" is always on top of the group by just lookin' at the "height", you don't have to ask why. She's the "ate" of the group. Then we also have Len-len, the editor-in-chief and no. 1 fan of Tom C. :) Amel, she's quiet and most of the time mingles with her equally pretty friends: Amy (the "music lover" and "food addict"), Dinie Ducz and Ann aka "Tender". I'm just wonderin' what these girls are talkin' about... but I'm sure "boys" is on top of their list. [I hope they wouldn't kill me for this.]

THESE ARE THE TIMES

The song that binds us together

I know we'll be friends for life
Sharing our dreams together
As we walk down the road
We never think twice
These mem'ries are made forever.

Though we're on the different worlds.
Somehow we're together
No we'll never far apart
'Coz dep within our hearts

These are the times to remember
The memories will last forever more
These are the times to remember
This part of life you can recall
These are the times.

With happy tears we cry
As we reach for the stars together
We have by your code
To stand side by side
And it just keeps on getting better.

When we're on the different worlds
Somehow we're together
No we'll never far apart
'Coz deep within our hearts

These are the times to remember
The memories will last forever more
These are the times to remember
'Coz it's there in your heart forever more.

Yes, dreams do come true
They're up to me and you
When all there gonna this time
The happiness will shine through

These are the times to remember
The memories will last forever more
These are the times...
These are the times...

" Thank you" is one of those wonderful phrases people use to express a special gratitude. But there's often a lot more to it than those two words can say. When it comes from the heart, from deep inside the nicest feelings and the most special thoughts, "Thank you"means so much. It means thank you for taking the time to show that you care. It means "you really made my day," and sometimes it means that you really make all the days so much better. It means you make me feel so nice, and I wish I could do the same for you... just by letting you know how much you mean to me. "Thank you" means you didn't have to... but I'm so grateful that you did. "Thank you" means that you've done something special that I'll never forget.

  • Friends, thank you very much for addin' up to my happiness...if in the second life I would have the chance to choose my own set of friends. I would always choose YOU.

As long as there are people who truly care, who reach out and give, each day still holds a wealth of special moments. As long as there are friends like YOU, my LIFE is filled with the greatest joy. If I learned to appreciate the beauty of life a little more, it's because you've all shown me how to enjoy discoverin' the mysteries of life, and take each day as it comes with a smile... with true HAPPINESS in my heart...

    LIFE IS A FLOWER.
