Untitled

by

chris vandyke

When I was eight I was groped by the sheriffs wife
and it steered
my thinking for all my life
Maybe thats why when I'm
with you
a wall goes up that you can't
break through
You tell me, then we'll both
understand
Maybe thats why I'm the way I am

I've used lots of drugs, so I wouldn't feel

to make my life and the world a lot less real

Still the light of the sun can reveal my pain
maybe
thats why I've lived in the night and rain
You tell me,
then we'll both understand
maybe thats why I'm
the way I am
Can't let it go, don't know
how to get free
So I'm scared of you, and I don't
trust me,
What I feel most is pain and hurt

so I keep on treating myself like dirt.

You tell me, then we'll both understand
Maybe
thats why I'm the way I am
