James Irdal Gallimore was born May 9, 1856 in Carroll county, Virginia. He married Salinda M. Akers on December 25, 1878, she was born Abt. 1858 in Virginia. James I. Gallimore was a blacksmith. James died September 26, 1936 and Salinda died Abt. 1915. They had the following children: Estelle Norman Gallimore b. September 2, 1880 d. January 25, 1955 Flora Gallimore b. October 17, 1881 d. April 7, 1909 Elva Gallimore b. June 14, 1888 d. July 28, 1889 Stephen Edward Gallimore b. January 22, 1890 d. September 17, 1961 Robert Franklin Gallimore b. July 1892 Charles Woltz Gallimore b. April 10, 1895 d. January 11, 1989
