My Family...My Goats There is NO animal, in my opinion, that is as smart and loving as a goat! My small herd consists mainly of Angoras... Pygoras (a breed crossing the Angora and Pygmy) and Pygmies. Someday I would like to get a colored Angora goat. I also have a few dairy goats thrown in for milk. I don't deal in the registered circle much...since I don't show my goats. I did have a herd of registered Nubians. They were beautiful animals from a good line: GCH Hallcienda's Frosty Marvin for those of you who know the who's who in the goat world. I kept one doe from that line. But it just wasn't me...my interest has always been with the underdog, it's something I relate to *S*.Most of my 'kids' started out as orphans...I took them in as bottle babies and raised them in my bed. To me they are every bit as wonderful as a registered goat. Now, my herd consists of them and their offspring. I have a 'closed herd'..it means I don't take in goats from outside sources. This is safe practice once you get going. Raising goats is good medicine for the heart and soul and the direction you take is what your interest is.
