This is Lesson 3 - Picture 1 - Push Tool
butterfly.jpg

This is the image of the butterfly I took with my camera on the wall of my house.

We were to take the Push tool and recreate the image to make an museum piece for an art show.

pushtool butterfly
The proceeding butterfly was manipulated to create the one here. The lesson was to push the image out to recreate the same image on a lighter scale inside the picture then add a border and clone the image to create the outer area, for a border or frame look. This is straight forward and following the directions. Except.... I didn't like the center image, so I did a mask on the original keeping just the butterfly and pasted it on top of the cloned ones. In order for the entire original to show as being the center focus point.

The proceeding butterfly image was then manipulated even more to create this one. With buttonized used for the inner area, then the inner bevel was used. I also used the weave tool on the outer area to create a different look.

This particular image, I started the creation basically the same as the proceeding lesson plan, only diverted from the lesson almost from the start. I did only a portion of the cloned butterfly to create a smaller pushed images, then again masked the original and placed it on top of the pushed portions. I then did a darken of the butterfly on the layers, and fiddled here and there, with inner bevel, buttonizing. etc till I created this image. Notice the focal point.
