We've moved!
The Abbey/White family can finally stop eating dinner at 7 or 7:30 p.m. now that they have moved to Des Plaines. The move has taken some adjustment, particularly for the youngest member of the family, but, overall, it sure beats rooming with the in-laws! "This is actually a nice little corner of Des Plaines," White said. "I really like getting home before 6 p.m. too." Abbey works in Des Plaines now and the family has found a daycare within blocks of their new home. "It sure is nice to know he's so close now," Abbey said. "The Lutheran daycare was nice, but it could take as long as an hour to get there after work." |
The new day care is still Christian-based, however, it's Baptist instead of Lutheran. "I like the non-profit aspect," Abbey said. "But, the Baptists tend to take the Old Testament a little too literally as far as I'm concerned." The entire family is trying to get settled in and unpacked. It's a little hard when there are boxes and furnishings in five different locations. "I am getting a little tired of driving down to Plano every week," White said. "And I can't believe we're still throwing stuff away." White, along with the rest of the family, just hopes things get settled and the downstate house is either sold or rented before the snow flies. |
