Abbey-White Family home page debuts

Welcome to the Abbey-White family home page. This new publication features homespun stories written by our editor, Tamara Abbey, formerly of The Mendota Reporter in Illinois.

Since moving to Plano, Abbey has been busy raising a son and spending time on the computer.

"I really enjoy the new challenges of working with a PC," Abbey said.

"I've always been fond of Macs, but my 'conversion' has been quite interesting."

Abbey got her start

in journalism at Illinois Valley Community College. She also freelanced for The Streator Times-Press.

"My most exciting assignments there included Robinson's Racing Pigs and an interview with a bus," she said. "The pigs were part of a community celebration and the old Greyhound bus was rented for a movie."

Abbey is married to Rick White and they have one son, Alex. Abbey has two children, Ashley and Jeremy Creamean from her first marriage. This is her first independent venture.
