Today is January 11th and Clayton came home today! He slept the whole day away too... Welcome home angel...
Today is January 12th. So many people came to visit Clayton today and welcome him home. Aunts and Uncles and cousins and friends... everyone loves visiting Clayton... Mommy was SO tired, especially since some people stayed until 10 p.m.! But she enjoyed showing off her beautiful boy! Grampie and Uncle Brian flew out today too. They were so glad to see you... They are staying for two weeks to spend some time with us.
Today is January 23rd. Clayton had his first doctor appointment today. He is two weeks old!! Already!! He is 8 pounds even and is 21 inches long... his birthday conehead went away!! The doctor says he looks great and is in excellent health! His next appointment is for February 11th... he'll be one month! And he'll need a shot.. yikes!
Today is January 26th. Grampie and Uncle Brian went home to Indiana today. We will miss them so much! Grampie got up every morning and held Mr. Clayton while he (and Mommy!) napped... Sometimes, Mommy had a very hard time getting Clayton away from Grampie... we hope he'll come visit us again soon!
Today, February 6th, Mommy's little angel is four weeks old. Four weeks ago at this very moment, 10:25 a.m., I was in labor. I was afraid that giving birth would hurt, I was scared out of my mind at being a mommy, and I was so excited to be meeting my baby that day. I couldn't wait to see if he looked like his daddy, I wanted to smell his baby smell, I wanted to count his fingers and toes, I wanted to hear him cry, and I wanted to hear the doctor tell me how healthy he was... Where have the last four weeks gone? At night, when he's being stubborn about going back to bed, it feels like an eternity. But, now, I am sitting here looking at my beautiful boy wondering how four weeks could have snuck by me like this... He is doing so great. He is starting to hold his head up, really looks at you when you talk to him, and is starting to lose his hair! Four weeks have just flown by me in a second... but it's funny... I almost can't remember my life before him...
Today is February 9th. My baby is one month old! Daddy and I took him to have his one month pictures taken. They came out GREAT! He did a wonderful job... we got to the mall early, woke him up by changing his diaper, and gave him a bottle so he'd have a full belly and it worked! He stayed awake and was perfectly content the entire time! He did decide to mess his diaper at the last minute but who can complain... it was the only snag! Click here to see the proof sheet.
Today, February 11th, was Clayton's second doctor's appointment - for his one-month checkup. He weighed in at 10 pounds, 2 ounces! He's still only 21 inches but is doing great... the doc had to put some more medicine on his umbilical cord though because it just won't fall out! He also got a shot today and did NOT like it! He made that perfectly clear to everyone on the block when he got it... my poor baby! Next appointment is for March 19th and he needs to get 4 shots then! Yikes! Daddy has to take him to that appointment because Mommy will be back at work... yuck!
Today is Valentine's Day! Clayton got Daddy a keychain that says Daddy on one side and I Love You on the other side. Daddy loved it and put it on his key ring right away. Then Clayton stayed with Nana so Mommy and Daddy could go out to dinner.
Clayton finally lost his umbilical cord today... February 15th! He's 5 weeks and 2 days old today.
Today is February 18th (President's Day) and Clayton had his first real bath today. He liked it! He cried when first put in the water, probably because it startled him, it was something new, but within a few seconds he calmed right down. He sat there perfectly content the whole time just relaxing and looking around while Mommy cleaned him up! Daddy got the whole thing on video!
Today is March 9th and Clayton is 2 months old! Already... I cannot believe how fast he is growing up! We had his two month pictures taken... but I haven't scanned them. He smiles like crazy all the time now. He is such a happy and easygoing baby... as long as he gets to eat when he wants to eat, he's good to go!
Clayton had his two-month checkup today, March 19th. I was supposed to be at work but left early... I wanted to be with my baby! He weighed 13 pounds, 8 ounces and was 23 1/2 inches long. The doctor said he looks great. He got four shots and did not like them very much... but was fine once he got his bottle! He is in the 50th - 75th percentile for his height and the 90th - 95th percentile for his weight. What a big boy he is!
Clayton had to go the doctor again today, March 22nd. He has a cold and the beginning of an ear infection. We got him amoxicillian for his ear and he can have PediaCare for his cold. My baby's first illness... waaah!
Today is March 29th... Clayton met the Easter Bunny today! Daddy took him to meet him... Mommy had to work (pout). Click here to see that picture. He fussed because he was tired but then he fell asleep... lol! Isn't he adorable??
Today is March 31st ~ Clayton’s very first Easter!! He looked so cute in his Easter outfit! Click here to see it. Unfortunately he was fussy all day though. He had some gas issues and my Uncle’s house was too hot so he was crabby a lot of the day. But we took him for a walk to the park in the afternoon, he napped and then went for a swing with mommy! He also got a bunch of new toys, two books, a Sesame Street video, and a Sesame Street tape about the alphabet. Did he make out like a bandit or what?? Happy Easter my sweet baby!!

Today is July 8th and, right now, it is 9:49 p.m. Six months ago at this very moment, I was going to bed because I thought I might be in labor and wanted to get some rest... turns out I was in labor and my lil bunchkin was born the next day. In some ways it feels like six years but in others, only six seconds.
Today is July 9th and my baby is six months old. He is halfway through his first year of life and I am in awe at how things have sped by us. Click here to read what I wrote about today.
Today is July 26th and I have been so busy with my sweet boy that I haven't updated his page! Bad mommy! Clayton is doing SO well. I have meant to update this page for the longest time! He went to the doctor on July 3rd for his 6-month checkup. He was 18 pounds and 28 inches long. I think he's going to be tall like his mommy! A lot has happened the last few months... We had Clayton's 5-month and 6-month pictures done. Click here to see them. Clayton also welcomed a new cousin to our family. Makenzie Helen was born on June 9th, the day that Clayton turned 5 months old. Click here to see the new cousins.
Today is August 10th and Clayton went on his first airplane ride! We went to visit Grampie in Indiana. Clayton's doctor said to give him Benadryl so he'd sleep during the flight and his pacifer to help pop his ears... it worked like a charm! Clayton could not have done any better! And everyone in Indiana was so surprised and happy to see us! We are staying until August 17th and then Grampie will come to our house for a week! So much fun and excitement for Clayton!
Today is August 17th and we came home from our vacation today. Clayton did wonderfully on the flights home today too. He is such a good boy!! Grampie also came out and is here till August 25th.
Grampie had to leave today, August 25th. We will miss him terribly but already know that he'll be back in December! We can't wait! He'll be out just after Christmas and is staying through Clayton's first birthday... can you believe how quickly that is coming up????
Today is September 7th and we had Clayton's 8-month pictures taken. Click here to see them. Daddy had to work so he missed it but we sure had fun. We also bought cousin Autumn her birthday presents for her first birthday. That party was today and we all had so much fun!

Today is September 23rd and I am happier than I have ever been in my whole life. It is amazing how much a tiny little person can change your entire life and outlook on it. Clayton amazes me more and more each day. He has a sparkling personality and is happy as can be 99% of the time. He is as stubborn as both his mommy and daddy, which can be SO frustrating and quite comical at the same time. He pulled himself up for the first time on September 20th and continues to do so now. He took his mobile down from his crib for us yesterday! He is an amazing person, the light of my life, and is doing phenomenally! He has his nine-month checkup on October 3rd and I can't wait to see how big he is... because he seems to have gotten SO big to me!
Today is October 3rd and today is Clayton’s Nana’s birthday! Happy Birthday Nana!! Clayton had his 9 month checkup today too! He is 20 pounds, 5 ounces and 29 inches long… my big boy!! He got one shot, which he did NOT like but the doctor said he is doing excellent! He goes back after his first birthday now. Can you believe that?? His first birthday is already coming up SO fast!!

Oh my goodness! My baby got his first tooth today!!!! It is October 18th, he is 9 months and 9 days old, and he has his very first tooth. It’s on the bottom on his left side. I am literally in tears over this milestone. I will never have a toothless baby Clayton again… I’ll now have a toothy smile instead of that big gummy grin of his. How is he growing up SO fast?? Where has the time gone so quickly??

Today is January 7th. In two short days, my little angel will be one years old. I am in complete shock! Where did this year go? His first Christmas was great and he was spoiled rotten. His first New Years was uneventful since he was in bed at bedtime like always! His first birthday party is planned for this Saturday, January 11th. It's a Sesame Street "You're One" theme... of course I will have tons of pictures so never fear....
