Your host for this segment of your journey, will be Capt. James T. Kirk, commanding the U.S.S Enterprise .
1966-1969 Capt. James T. KirkMr. SpockDr. Leonard McCoy Cmdr. Montgomery ScottLt. SuluLt. UhuraEnsign Pavel Chekov William ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest Kelley James DoohanGeorge TakaiNichelle NicholsWalter Koenig Favorite Returning Characters Sarek - Spock's father played by Mark Leonard. A stoic ambassador to Earth, he and Spock were often at odds and never expressed to each other how they felt. Harry Mudd - Space rouge and pirate played by Roger C. Carmel. Appearing in only two episodes, he gained popularity with Trekkers with his joviality and craftiness. Most Noteworthy Villians Khan - 20th century super-man and ruler of 1/4 of world in 1990's. Reawakening from cryogenic deep-freeze, he and his followers took control of the Enterprise and tried to kill Kirk. After that failed, he and his followers, were put on planet Ceti Alpha V to colonize it. In ST:The Wrath of Khan, he is back with a vengence - at Kirk! He takes control of the Genesis device, a bomb which will destroy all existing life in favor of its new DNA life matrixes. Khan and Kirk battle to the end - Khan denotates the device in his attempt to kill Kirk, but ends up destroying himself. Spock is killed when he saves the ship from the Genesis shock wave. Klingons - Kirks archenemies. There have been several Klingon individuals, noteably Kor ("Errand of Mercy"), Kang ("Day of the Dove"), Koloth ("Trouble with Tribbles"), Kruge (Star Trek III), Kras ("Fridays Child") and General Chang (Star Trek VI). This warrior race would later form an alliance with the Federation, as seen in the ensuing series. In Picard's time, the death of Klingon High Council Leader K'mpec would bring a battle of familes to vie for power - Duras and Gowron. Picard is asked, at K'mpec's request, to decide which should lead the Empire. After Duras kills Worf's girlfriend, Ambassador K'Ehleyr, Worf takes rightful vengence and kills Duras, leaving Gowron to rule. Duras' sisters, Lursa and B'Tor, would later conspire with the Romulands and battle Gowron for control of the Empire. Worf's support of Gowron during this crisis earns him back his family honor. Gowron would later lead a pre-emptive strike against the Cardassian homeworld, a move Worf condemns. This would cause Gowron to later strip Worf of his honor once more. Romulans - An offshoot of the Vulcans, this warrior race live on the planet Romulus. "Balance of Terror" marked the first episode to show these villians, and introducing their feared Cloaking Device. They will remain enemies through ST:TNG and into ST:DS9. With the Dominion war upon them, the Federation and the Romulans form and uneasy alliance against the greater threat. Favorite Episode "The City on the Edge of Forever" I'm a fan of time travel episodes and this one has it all - romance, humor, serious philosophy, and action. It shows Kirk involved with an impossible choice - save the world as we know it and let his love die or save her and condemn the rest of humanity. Tough choice but he makes it. Runners up: "Mirror, Mirror" and "Balance of Terror". Back Row: Sulu, Uhura, Chekov, McCoy, Scott Front Row: Kirk, Spock The U.S.S. Enterprise on route to adventure!
