There is a lot of confussion on who exactly is Wyatt Arnold, of Benton County, TN. Some researchers believe that Wyatt Arnold is actually William Arnold Jr.(II), and that he assumed the first name Wyatt around 1795. He had a son that he named William Arnold who went to Okibbeha Co., Ms., by way of Bibb Co., AL and died in MS., where he left his Family Bible Record, in which he is recorded as William Arnold III (see Mississippi Genealogical Exchange, v. 9, No.'s 2 & 3, pp. 29-31; and No. 1 P. 15). According to this it is only logical that his father was William Arnold II. In the World Family Treemaker, Family Archives, Volume 4, Tree Number 4144 has some Arnold's in it that could be from my line. This line starts at Benjamin Arnold II and goes up to William Arnold III. In this line it shows that William Arnold the II had a son named Wyatt (could this be Wyatt H.?) and one named William III (could this be William?). It also lists a Wylie (Could this be Willie "Wiley"?) and a James "Jimmy". I believe that there are to many similarities in these two lines for them to be different people. At this time I have not been able to get in touch with the person who submitted this information, but I am checking into it. If William II and Wyatt of Benton County are not the same then who was Wyatt's Father, mother, or for that matter the wife of all them children? If it should turn out that William III and Wyatt H. were brothers then the following lineage would apply.
