Webelo Cubs are the last two years of Cub Scouting. Boys who are in the 4^th and 5^th grades may join. It's easy to pick out the Webelos at the Pack meetings. Besides taking a more active role in the meeting, they will be wearing a more distinctive uniform. They may have the traditional Cub Scout blue shirt, or they may wear the khaki shirt like the Boy Scouts. Their hat will have the Webelos emblem and their neckerchief will be plaid.

Webelos is a transitional period from Cub Scouting to Boy Scouting, from home-centered to group-centered activities. Webelo scouts work to earn as many as 20 hobby and career "activity badges". The boys are much more independent now, but, as was true for the earlier ranks, parental involvement makes for a much better scouting experience.
