THE BEACH! The swim lessons helped out here too because when he took a bit of a tumble into the water and got his face all wet, he didn't get upset. I think being used to having his face in the water in swim class made the difference.

This is a beach in northern California so it's not what we (Southern Californians) consider a real beach. It's usually a challenge getting photos of just Julian without a bunch of strangers in the frame, but it was a cinch here because there were hardly any people on this beach. And there was bumper to bumper traffic just to get there. Strange. We have no idea what beach everyone else went to!
