This was the onlyway the settlers on the western border could obtain much neededsupplies, which in many cases were loaded at Pittsburgh on rafts andboats and floated down the Ohio River."

[641] "Sometime after the old homestead of the Hornbergers along theBonneauville Road was disposed of in 1843, John E. and ElizabethHornberger with their fmaily drifted down into Maryland and located inan old house, partially built of logs (still standing in 1950), on theChrry Town Road, about one mile east of the main road through SilverRun. The house is located on the left when travelling east. It nowconsists of only 12 acres."
