GRAPHICS, ICONS, BACKGROUNDS

I have deleted several graphics sites that appeared here for a long time. As the web matures, more and more graphic designers are choosing to become commercial and sell their work (and who can blame them?) rather than offering free graphics. The sites that I have kept here all offer something I thought was special. Two important notes:

  • Read and follow copyright notices, terms and conditions of use, etc., if you choose to use graphics from a free graphics site. Someone created these graphics - don't use their work without giving them full credit.
  • Always capture and save graphics on your own web space. NEVER link directly to someone else's graphics page. Web Prestige has an excellent explanation of why this practice is good net-etiquette.

Icon Bazaar. Many public domain images, some copyrighted stuff - be sure to read their Conditions of Use. Categories include alphabets, animals, flags, flowers, stars & suns, fractals, as well as standard icons like arrows, dots and bullets, bars, lines, and backgrounds. Also has a 216-color table with RGB codes.
The Graphic Station. Lots of icons plus some other neat stuff.
The Design Shoppe. Clip art and backgrounds. Standard categories, but different and colorful. Black, white, and textured backgrounds.
Over the Rainbow. Many graphics links with nice explanations of what you will find. Lots of backgrounds, including rainbow backgrounds.
Jelane's Free Web Graphics. Graphics in "families" to give a finished look to a page - sets include edge border, bullet, rule, arrows, and buttons. These are really worth looking at - the descriptions don't do them justice.
Pam Bytes. Free original web graphics. Some really nice borders; sets of graphics are impressive.
The Corporation Icon Gallery. Choose your own web page award. Warning: this is a funny (funny/ha-ha not funny/peculiar) site.
Rainbow Graphic Designs. Alphabets, backgrounds, graphics. Background color resources.
Rosie's Alphabet Graphics Tutorial. Tutorial on how to use alphabet graphics on your web page.
Graphics at CatStuff.A wide variety of cat-related graphics.
Jewish Graphics. A small collection of Jewish graphics I have made available for some friends who asked. If you are looking for something specific, I will be happy to help as time permits.
