1. Edward Ross¹ Rippey Sr.¹ was born in 1734 at Orange County, North Carolina.² He was born in 1734 at Dublin, Ireland.³ He married Susannah Thomas, daughter of Massey Thomas and Mary Price, before 1763 at Virginia.^3,4 He died between 17 Nov 1790 and 1799 at Rutherford County, North Carolina.^5,1,2

He was found on a tax list in 1779 at Orange County, North Carolina.⁶

Children of Edward Ross¹ Rippey Sr. and Susannah Thomas were as follows:

• 2. i. Mary², born 3 Dec 1762 at Orange County, North Carolina; married William Elmore Sr.

• 3. ii. Edward Ross Jr., born 23 Mar 1764 at Orange County, North Carolina; married Mary Elmore.

• 4. iii. Nancy Anne, born 22 Jul 1766 at Orange County, North Carolina; married John Elmore.

• iv. Rhoda;^3,3,3 born 12 May 1768;³ married (--?--) Gilmore.³

• v. Jesse;^3,3,3 born 20 Dec 1769.³

  He lived (moved to Kentucky or Ohio when quite young so his people lost sight of him).³

• vi. Frances;^3,3,3 born 25 Dec 1771;³ married Abednego Adams.³

• vii. John;^3,3,3 born 5 Feb 1773.³

  He never married.³
