It had (Nancy) before her name of Anne RIPPEY. I believe this is due to the family bible with the names of John & Nancy ELLMORE. A notarized signed statement from Mrs. Paul (Neoma) ELMORE, dated April 11, 1981 read: "This is to certify that the following is a true listing of a handwritten page in the "ELMORE Family Bible." It is a small book, really a Testament: Nancy ELLMORE was born the 22nd day of July, 1766 ... This is to further certify that on another page of the same Testament, the following names are written (in LARGE handwriting): John ELLMORE Nancy ELLMORE." In a paper provided by Allie ELMORE SEALES it had: "Revolutionary War John ELMORE's wife (Anne / Nancy) died prior to the 1810 Ky. Census ... and in 1829 he left the land he purchased in 1805 (in Barren County, Ky.) to "my son, Abraham, for taking care of me for the rest of my life." John died in 1836." In a family group sheet by Chris ALLEN and added to by Myrtle ELMORE it read: "John ELMORE (served in Rev. War -- applied for Pension #S-31009) Born Oct. 22, 1758, in Lunenburg Co., Virginia (bought land in Barren Co., Ky. in 1805 -- having moved from York County, S.C. -- where they sold land in 1804). Anne (Nancy) RIPPEY (born July 22, 1766) (married in Orange Co., NC. 3 Feb 1784)." In a family group sheet provided by Allie ELMORE SEALES it read: Name Nancy "Anna" RIPPY; Residences Va., N.C, & Ky.; Born July 22, 1766 in Va.; Father Edward RIPPY and Mother Susannah THOMAS.
