He married Loura (--?--) between 1860 and 1870. He died between 1870 and 1877 at Wright County, Missouri. His estate was probated in 1877 at Wright County, Missouri (These are the first probate records to appear for Joshua).

He was also known as "Josh." Residence:Moved about 1838.

1824 JUN - Perry Co., KY Court ordered all bonds for bound children executed in the Aug term 1823 be rescinded except Robert Cornitt and Joshua.

1829 OCT 19 - had land in Monroe Co., twp. 7, range 2E, SW 31, tract book I. He lived circa 1806 at Kentucky (Josh moved to Kentucky with his parents around 1806). He, age 26 - 45, and Sarah Hicks, age 26 - 45, appeared on the 1820 census, enumerated 1820, in Floyd County, Kentucky, with 1 slave.²⁶ He was found on a tax list in 1821 at Perry County, Kentucky.¹⁵ He witnessed the marriage bond of William Rippee and Huldah Mary Young signed on 21 May 1821 at Floyd County, Kentucky.²⁷ He was found on a tax list in 1822 at Perry County, Kentucky.¹⁶ He lived after 1822 at Monroe, Indiana (He moved there with his wifes family sometime after 1822). He entered an indenture on 11 Aug 1823 at Perry County, Kentucky (The indentured Nancy Webb was the infant daughter of Mary & William Webb).²⁸ He was found on a tax list in 1824 at Perry County, Kentucky.¹⁸ He was found on a tax list in 1825 at Perry County, Kentucky.¹⁹ He appeared on the 1830 census of 1830 at Monroe, Indiana.²⁹ He appeared on the 1840 census of 1840 at Monroe, Indiana.³⁰ He age 53, born in North Carolina, and Sarah Hicks age 49, born in Kentucky, appeared on the 1850 census of Jun 1850 at District No. 102, Wright County, Missouri.³¹ He appeared on the 1860 Census of Jun 1860 in the household of Robert Rippee and Elizabeth Puckett at Wright County, Missouri. He is listed as 62 years of age and having been born in North Carolina (Robert's family is listed in the household next to his brother James). He, age 72 years and born in Kentucky, and Loura (--?--), age 57 and born in Missouri, appeared on the 1870 census of Jun 1870 at Wright County, Missouri.³²
