THEODORE MOUSE
Once upon a time there was a little mouse whose name
was Theodore. Such a large name for such a small mouse,
but, that's what every one knew him by. His whole name
was actually Theordore J. Mouse. No one really knew
what the J stood for except Theodore and his family who
usually called him TJ, and
besides that, the only time his middle name was ever
used was when his mother was a little upset with him.
She would call up the stairs, or out the door, "Theodore
Justin,..." Oh, and his Granny called him Justin. He
liked to be called Theodore though, or sometimes just Ted.
Theordore lived in a little two story white farm house
with blue shutters and flower boxes on the windows. It
was on Mouse Road
down by where the orange groves used to be. Mouse Road
was named after Theodore's great grandfather, Theodore
Floyd Mouse. Theodore J. was the forth generation of the
Mouse family to live in the house on Mouse Road. The
Mouse's used to own the orange groves but one of the
great aunts married a crooked laywer who had everything
signed over to him by Great Grandmother. He converted
the orange groves into a shopping mall called Splendora
and then dissappeared to wherever rich crooked laywers
dissappear to.
Theodore had an older sister named Saraphina but he
couldn't pronounce Saraphina when he was little so he
just called her Sassy. Sometimes he just called her Sas.
Now Sas was beautiful. As a teen she was
the poster child for the Untied Orthodontists Association.
She grew up to become a famous author and talk show host,
married a fabulously handsome English sailor named Byron
Sylversmith III and raised a charming daughter, Theodora,
who went off to Halifax to seek her fortune after having
extensive plastic surgery to cut down the size of her
nose. However, we're getting a little ahead of our story.
Sas, like everyone else, really loved Theodore. She
used to play with him as a baby and would even make
him his own little house in her closet. Granny couldn't
figure out how he got in the closet, she didn't know they
were playing house. Granny would peer into the closet
with her near sighted mouse eyes (she couldn't find her
glasses because they were usually pushed up on top of her
head) and say, "Is that you Justin?" Theodore, in his
Sweet Pea outfit, would just smile and make baby mouse
sounds.
Theodore really loved Sas too. However, he was also a
typical little brother as was made evident the time
he stood out in front of the house and yelled at the top
of his little mouse voice, "Sassy wears balloons in her
shirt," or something to that effect. He didn't know what
he was really saying but it made Sas mad so he kept it
up until something more interesting came along.
Granny came from one of those mouse families on the
east coast who ate only the top part of their crusts.
She used to tell stories of her grandfather, Bench,
who was an itinerant church mouse and quite a character.
He used to go around the country cutting mice
loose who had been hung in mouse traps, giving them
proper burials. He died at a ripe old age of 98. They
had to make special arrangements for his burial because
he was so big.
These are the stories of Theodore Mouse. They will
