ALI

I'm Ali, Popcorn MOM's daughter. I'm 9 years old and in Grade 3. I have many friends in school which I also see in my outside activites. I love to be with my family! My Dad works at the Toyota Plant in Cambridge. My Mom's always there for me. She at home for me at lunch time and when I get home from school. I can walk there by myself! Sometimes my Mom goes into the school too, when she's volunteering. She helps with the popcorn and special lunches. I have a little brother named Shane. Shane sometimes helps my Mom in the school.

I enjoy reading, swimming, and going to karate classes. Mom just got me a Harry Potter book! I'm hooked on it. I can't wait to read the others. I just passed my swimming level, so I'm now in AquaQuest 5. My mom just put my brother and I in Karate. We have to yell really loud and bow at the door. In December my brother and I just got our yellow belts. My Dad just started karate too. We have fun at home practising. For Christmas, Santa gave us a Nintendo 64. I got Pokemon Snap and lots of other Pokemon stuff. This was the best Christmas ever!

OH, NO! My Mom and Dad have started! Any guy who would like to take my out on a date has to fill out an application!

A MOTHER'S ADVICE TO HER DAUGHTER

"Be strong. Be intelligent. Smile.
Know that beauty has everything to do with how you feel about yourself and nothing to do with looks or other people's opinions.
Never do anything just because everyone else is if you believe it's wrong.
Always be true to yourself.
Expect the best from life and that's what you'll get.
Learn from your mistakes and failures.
Believe in magic and wish on stars.
Love and trust and be compassionate.
Make faces. Play in mud puddles. Take bubble baths.
Turn off all the lights and watch lightening storms.
Dance, laugh, cry, and sing when you want to.
Read everything you can get your hands on.
Stand up for what is right especially if you stand alone.
Don't allow yourself or people around you to tolerate prejudices of any kind.
Don't be afraid to try something new.
Do something daring at least once a week.
Run through snow drifts.
Spin in circles and roll down hills.
Pet puppies, hold kittens, and talk to babies.
Take afternoon naps. Stay up to watch the sunrise.
Never apologize for being a woman or for being yourself.
Never forget that I love you more than any other person in the world, no matter how far apart we are you will always be my daughter."
