In the name of God Amen. I John Hall of the County of Pittsylvania, being in good health and in perfect sense and memory, thanks be to God for the same, but calling to mind the uncertain state of this transitory life, well knowing that all men are born to die and after that to come to...allows this me last will and testament. First I give my soul to Almighty God that gave it and my body to be decretely buried and all costs and charges to be paid by the conscious dilegence of my executors and will and desire viz that all my debts due and demands that I have against any man on any management may be contested and paid, and now for settling my temporal estate: To my beloved wife all my land with all my other estate both real and personal within doors and without doors during her natural widowhood. then the land to be equally divided between my two sons Manthony Hall and James Hall. Then I give to my daughter Mary Hall one cow and her increases that we bought from Amelia County and one feather bed and furniture and the other part of my estate to be equally divided betwiqust my three yougest children Matthew Hall, James Hall and Pressillen Hall. I appoint my friends Charles Burton and Frances Rose executors of this my Last Will and Testament. As Witness my hand this sixth day of June one thousand seven hundred seventy-six.
