NWNA PICTURES:

We had a really warm summer in 1998. Take some kids,
and put out some pools and it's a great time for all!

In August 98, we had the greatest tour of the Kirkland Fire
Dept. We got to learn how to dial 911, how to stop, drop and roll and how to plan
an escape route from our homes in case of emergency. We got to see where the fire
men worked, where they relaxed, and best of all, we got to see all the trucks. After
our tour, the fire men gave us a demo of their talents as they zoomed around the building
in their firetruck with lights and sirens blaring. They jumped out of the truck, and
extended the ladder to the sky and climbed to the top! We also got to see a car they
used to practice the jaws of life on! It was great. If you have the chance to
take your kids on a tour, be sure to go to the Kirkland Fire Department.

We had a
chance to visit the Butterfly house at the Pacific Science Center in December. There
were thousands of butterflys and the weather was a humid 80 something inside.
The kids loved it.
Winter
time requires us nannies to be creative and create fun indoor projects for the kids.
Here, Spencer and Cody are decorating trees using sugar cones, green frosting,
m&m's, coconut and sprinkles. With a little imagination, the kids had a lot of
fun at this art day, and it sure made a tasty treat.
Art days are created
for all ages and developmental stages. Megan, who is 4, was able to take a little
more time on hers and place all the pieces in just the right places.
Art days also
provide a wonderful opportunity for the children to socialize and play. This
developes strong communication skills and encourages sharing for all ages.
Art
days/Playgroups are stimulating for all ages. Even Amanda had a lot of excitement,
and decided to just roll over and take a nap.
