Isaac bought land in Holt County, 1846. He was the superintendent of the Holt County Jail in 1850 and on 19 Oct 1850 was given a contract to build the Court House. | I am searching for my Grandmother, Grace FOUKE and her mother Mildred FOUKE and brother Paul Richard FOUKE. I found them living with the Squire J. and Mary BUZAN family in the 1880 Holt COunty census. I know she lived in St. Joseph, MO until about 1907. Paul FOUKE worked for John S. | I am looking for info on the parentage of Jesse CARROLL, b. abt 1812 in TN. He married Susan LUSTER (possibly Susan Lucinda EPPERSON) from VA. After coming to Holt Co., he owned the Lenz-Carroll Stagecoach Inn and did quite well for himself. Children are Elizabeth, Elizah, Marion, Emaline, Frances, Lucy, Emiline, Phebe, John and Rebecca. This stagecoach inn, in Richville, was on the historic register and all kinds of relatives came to celebrate there. Does the Stagecoach Inn still exist in Richville? According to Derr, Levi KAUFMAN built the North Bethel Church. Does anyone have information regarding this church? I was told it had been torn down. | I have been researching the JACKSON family and have found one branch that was in MO. I have an Enoch Winchester JACKSON, b. 9 Oct 1886 in Craig, Holt County, MO. He was the son of Enoch W. | GUY/WRIGHT - Alfred GUY (b. abt. 1812, NC) md abt. 1833/34 to Mary Jane WRIGHT (b. abt. 1818, VA). In 1840, the GUY's lived in Russell Co., VA; in 1850 they lived in Lewis Co., KY; 1860 in Doniphan Co., KS; 1870 in Holt Co., MO; then back to Doniphan Co. until Alfred's death in 1890. Their children include Harriett E. (md. Walter BROWNLEE), John R. (md. Mary Ann BROWNLEE), Enoch Housner (md. Maggie JESTER), Polly Ann (md. Thomas NOWLES), and Frances (md. JESTER). A Minerva WRIGHT and her daughters lived near the GUY's in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 censuses. She had 3 daughters: Susanna, Lucinda and Amanda (or Mary J.) Socrates volunteered to preserve the Union in 1861 and served in Company B, 4th MO Infantry.
