We just got test results
back on 9/11/03 - Angel has Lymphoma.
We had to say good-bye to
Angel on 11/07/03.
It all started with a message on the GREYHOUND-L
. TLC
Adoption Kennel was "over-full". I went and looked
through the pictures (loved them ALL), but ONE
(the picture you see above) seemed to be calling me back.
It was something in her eyes. The eyes in the
other pictures looked more confident, while you could see the
uncertainty in hers.
I went back to that picture everyday for a
week....sent an e-mail (figuring, she's probably been
adopted)...then found out she was still looking for a home and
she could be MINE!!!!
Thanks to the kindness and goodness of people
involved not only in Greyhound Adoption, but also other breed
rescue groups (thank you Jim from Old English Sheepdogs and Jo
Ann from Shelties)...Angel made the trip from Kansas to
Pennsylvania.

She never got to race since she injured a back foot in schooling and will
always walk with a bit of a limp. She got turned down for
adoption a lot of times when people would see how she walked. I
think it eroded her self-esteem a bit so when she first came to
me she was very shy and afraid. She is now playing with toys,
wagging her tail (a lot), doing spinning happy dances, swatting
me with her paw to insist that I pet her, and cockroaching all
over the place. (If you aren't sure what some of these terms

I found out that Angel had a "Special"
Friend at TLC.
His name is Rider and
he used to sneak out of his kennel and let himself into hers so
he could snuggle with her. Stop over and read his
