Cookie goes out west!

Part 4: Arizona Adventures

So, I thought, we'll go home now. Well, we got home eventually, but before we did we spent a few days in Arizona, which is surely the hottest place I have ever visited.

Everyone who goes to Arizona should see the Grand Canyon. That's what Mom and Dad kept saying all the way there. So we saw the Grand Canyon and a nice lady took a picture of all three of us.

(Notice my great bandana)

The Grand Canyon was OK but I really liked Oak Creek Canyon better. I still can't figure out how come I am up here and the birds are down there!

Mom and Dad had a good time in Sedona. If you've ever seen old cowboy movies, you've probably seen Sedona and didn't even know it.

Near Sedona we got to see our first Anasazi ruins. Here I am at Montezuma's Castle. Montezuma never lived there and he never saw it but they call it that anyway.

This is Montezuma's Well, which he never saw either. This is sometimes called a cenote. It is fed by undground springs. The people who lived here ages ago built condos around it just like they do around the lake in Charlevoix.

(I wonder where the fudge shop was?)

The next day we traveled to the Petrified Forest National Park. Here's a picture of Mom hiding behind one of the rocks.

This bridge is a petrified log. Legend says that a cowboy won a big bet by riding his hourse across the log. I think the horse is the one who should have won something.

The best part of the Petrified Forest was the hike I took with Dad and Mom into the Painted Desert. As you can see, I am a very brave dog.

By now, Mom was calling this the "Viewmaster Tour". If you know what that means, you are older than I am.

We still had one more major destination before heading home. Mom and Dad wanted to see more Anasazi ruins.
