Creating a Grand Assembly or Local Assembly Website?
Please refer to the following guidelines!
The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls
Guidelines for Grand Assembly and Local Assembly Websites
1. All International Order of the Rainbow for Girls web pages must follow these guidelines in order for the site to be linked to the Supreme Assembly website and on any approved Grand Assembly or Local Assembly website.
a. Approved websites must display the official International Order of the Rainbow for Girls emblem on the main web page (Home Page), and must also indicate that the site has been approved and is following the Supreme Assembly Internet Guidelines.
b.Members of the Supreme Assembly Internet Committee will monitor sites at least once every three months for compliance.
c.Advertisements for non-Rainbow related items on Rainbow for Girls web pages are not allowed. (Example: Geocities, Yahoo! and such other sites providers who flash annoying advertisements on your site. Those can, and have, led to inappropriate sites.)
2. A non-compliant site will be reported to its Webmaster and the Supreme Inspector or Supreme Deputy of the Jurisdiction. Supreme Inspectors and Deputies may close a site if not brought into compliance.
3. All International Order of the Rainbow for Girls websites will have an allegiance statement to Supreme Assembly on the Home page (the initial page that is displayed).
4. All Grand Assembly and Local Assembly websites must have the approval of the Supreme Inspector or Deputy in that Jurisdiction. The Supreme Inspector or Deputy may delegate authority for approval of the content of the Grand and Local Assembly Websites to a designated Webmaster.
a. Supreme Inspectors and Deputies should communicate with Supreme Assembly about their website’s effectiveness, their designated Webmaster, and any other issues that may arise regarding Internet usage.
b. Local Assembly websites must have approval of the Assembly’s Mother Advisor and Advisory Board, in addition to the Supreme Inspector or Deputy approval. This should also ensure that the website is reviewed on a yearly basis.
5. Postal addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, or other personal information of active Rainbow Girls will not be allowed, except as follows.
a. The e-mail address of a Grand Worthy Advisor (GWA) may be posted with written permission of both the parent(s) of the GWA, and the GWA herself.
b. The e-mail address or contact information of a Local Assembly may be listed on a web page if the contact information references an adult.
c. Grand Officers and Grand Appointments may be listed on a web page. If e-mail addresses are linked or used, the listing must be on a page within a website that has password protection. This ensures the protection of our members – their safety comes first.
6. Pictures used on websites must follow these requirements:
a. Individual pictures may not have any title, identification, or signage within the photograph that would identify the picture’s location or the names of the members shown. (i.e. no captions that name the members or location; no
signage that says “Welcome to McAlester” or other specific location).
b. Group pictures of an Assembly activity or service project must not list individual girls’ full names or their geographical location. The Assembly’s name may be used within any caption.
c. Past and present Grand Worthy Advisor (GWA) photos may be used, with the permission of the GWA. Any GWA who is under 21 must also have the written permission of her parent or legal guardian.
7. Supreme Assembly will maintain a list of Grand Assembly Webmasters or other official contact person(s) for official communications regarding websites. Each Supreme Inspector and Deputy should ensure that Supreme Assembly has the name and e-mail address for their designated Webmaster.
a. The designated Webmaster for each Grand Assembly will maintain a list of Webmasters for each Local Assembly for official communications regarding websites.
b. No individual (personal) web pages may be linked to the Supreme Assembly or Grand Assembly websites. Contact your Grand Assembly or Local Assembly to submit potential content for use on approved websites.
Guidelines and recommendations are subject to change with the approval of the Supreme Assembly Internet Committee and the Supreme Executive Board. Updates will be posted to the Supreme Assembly Website and e-mailed to the designated Webmasters for each Grand Assembly.
