Dear Grand Representative:
Congratulations on your new appointment! I hope that you are excited to have the honor and responsibility of sharing Rainbow. Have fun getting to know your counterpart and keeping Arkansas Rainbow in touch with Rainbow around the world. I am enclosing your commission, which will have the name of your counterpart that you are to write to on the back. If I received any other information with your commission, I am enclosing it as well. Our Supreme Inspector, Ellen Gigerich, and Rebecca Jones, Grand Worthy Advisor join me in thanking you for sharing the sisterhood and accepting this job.
I hope that you will contact your counterpart as soon as possible. Please try to mail, e-mail, or call your counterpart as much as you can throughout the entire year. Please tell your counterpart all about yourself, your assembly, state activities, Grand Assembly, and other interesting things about Arkansas Rainbow. If you fail to get a reply from your counter part, please contact me and I will make sure that she is receiving your letters and investigate why she may not be answering. Do not wait until May 2004 to let me know you don’t have any correspondence! It will be too late! Please also note that I will be contacted if you are not replying to your counterpart’s letters.
Grand Representatives from Arkansas are asked to participate in various activities at Grand Assembly. These activities include a costume contest, scrapbook contest, and a report given in front of everyone during session about Rainbow in your assigned state. Your participation in these activities will earn your assembly points for Assembly of the Year. Please keep all of your mail, email, pictures, and mementos for your scrapbook. Your costume may be anything representing your state and/or Rainbow in your state. Reports at Grand Assembly need to be informative, but brief. You will not be able to just say “thank you and I didn’t receive anything from my state” for points.
Also, this year I will be choosing a Grand Representative of the Year, which will be determined by your attendance at Honor events, Grand Representatives activities throughout the year, amount of correspondence, as well as your participation in the costume, scrapbook, and report at Grand Assembly. This honor will have a PRIZE!!
If you choose to attend your state’s Grand Assembly Session, you must contact me and let me know ASAP! You will need to travel with an adult. I will be able to get you all the information regarding contact persons, dates, registration, costs, dress code, and other activities that you may need to know about before you arrive. This also allows me time to let Rebecca and the Grand Family know in case they have time in their schedule to travel with you.
If you have any questions or need help contacting your counterpart, please contact me. I wish you lots of fun and magical memories as a Grand Representative!
