Fate stepped in when you chose me way back then. I was young and hungry for love, and in need of a friend. You offered me shelter, food and a bed, Where for the past happy years I've used as a place to rest my weary head. Our friendship grew to one of love, loyalty and respect, Neither one of us taking for granted the bond that we shared. We wandered the suburbs via parks and pathways, Stopping to be greeted and I praised. Companions we are and will always remain. Now we are separated by death or even old age. The memories of our 'togetherness' which we both shared Will spring to your mind when you remember I'm no longer here. So live your life afresh And let me rest in peace and please remember this. I cherished our time and all that you did.
