KAPPEL FAMILY

The first Kappel we have information on was my great great grandfather, Philip.
He was born in 1820 in Germany and married Mary Catherine Wenzel.
They arrived in America in 1848 on the ship Victoria.
Philip and Catherine had five sons:

1. Henry Valentine born Germany - 1844 - married Anna Eliza Conley.
2. Frederick born Germany about 1846
3. August born PA about 1850
4. Phillip born 1852 in Pittsburgh, PA, married Louisa Port in 1879.
5. Alexander Samuel William born about 1864 in Ohio.

Henry Valentine Kappel and Eliza Conley had the following children (born WV except Cora born Ohio):

1. Stella
2. Frank
3. Cora married Charles Conley
4. Catherine
5. Mable
6. Carl married Carrie Miller
7. Carrie

Phillip Kappel and Louisa Port had children:

1. Anna Gertrude born 1880 in PA married 1st - Henry Abersold and 2nd - Paul Borne
2. Edward Jacob born 1882 in Pittsburgh, PA, married Loretta Ella VanFossen in Ohio
3. Otto born 1885 in WV
4. Frank born 1887 in WV
5. Ludaviga (Lulu) 1889 in WV
