Phyllis had a strong faith and was a devoted Catholic. She instilled this in her children. Sunday was sabbath day, regardless of the weather they went to church every Sunday. Many times she put her last cent in the basket but would always say it was returned two fold. She was well known in the church circles and belonged to the Womens guild. Her faith pulled her through many hard times, expecially the death of her daughter Edith. Matt was kneeling next to Ediths bed with a lighted candle in his hands praying when Ediths twin sister, Eleanor came to say goodbye. Phyllis had a strong devotion to the rosary. The last hour she spent with her daughter Marie, they recited the rosary together. |
