CHRISTMAS

My favorite months of the year are October, November and December. They bring cooler weather, the turning of the leaves, crisper air, and holidays!

I love Halloween and Thanksgiving, but my favorite holiday is Christmas, so that's what this page is about. I love all the sounds, smells, and traditions of Christmas. Here are some of the things about the season that have the most meaning for me.

Do You Believe? Well, do you?

Christmas Music The music of Christmas seems to fall into two categories, solemn and joyous. Here's a great place to search for some of your favorite Christmas midi files.

A Christmas Carol Here is a link to the story by Charles Dickens. There are two movie versions that are special to me, one made in 1938 starring Reginald Owen as Ebenezer Scrooge, and the other made in 1951 starring Alistair Sim. God bless us, every one! You go, Tiny Tim.

It's a Wonderful Life - I didn't grow up with this movie, but have grown to love it, and never get tired of watching it. I love the philosophy behind it. Do you remember the scene where the youngest daughter wants her daddy to fix the flower? What was her name?

Dept. 56 I spend days decorating the house for Christmas, usually starting the day after Thanksgiving. It takes forever, but looks like a Chrismas wonderland by the time I finish. It gives me great pleasure. I do three different displays in our house at Christmas. The one above my computer desk is the Snow Village farm scene. I love these little houses and figures. In the living room goes the SV city scene and in the family room goes the mountain scene with the retreat and fishing lodge and cabins.

Holiday Recipes Every year, I have to make at least two different kinds of Christmas cookies. These are some of my family's favorite recipes. The ones that say 'Mom' are actually passed along from years and generations past in our family.

Twas the Night Before Christmas The beloved poem by Clement Moore.

Mickey's House! Build a snowman, and lots of other holiday fun for kids and the kid in all of us!

Merry Christmas from Santa There's lots of Christmas stuff here.

When I was a little girl, this painting appeared on the cover of a Fred Waring Christmas album, one we practically wore out playing over and over again each year! I have recently found it on cassette, and still play it over and over again during the season. Apparently, the original artwork is part of the Hallmark Fine Art Collection. These graphics are not for use on any others' pages.
