Welcome to 1999!

Hi, my name is Heather, and I am 19 years old. I live in a small town in Northeast Louisiana. I have a brother, Jason, who is in the Army, stationed in Germany. I live with my Mom.

I was born with a rare blood disease called Diamond-Blackfan Anemia. In short, I do not make any red blood cells, so I have to have transfusions all the time. I have a form of Hepatitis that has made my liver bad. I have tried all kinds of experimental treatments that have failed. We had tests done for a bone marrow transplant, but we didn't have a match. We then found out that I would have to have a liver transplant followed by a bone marrow transplant. After going over things with my doctors, we decided that we didn't want to go through all that.

There is no cure for my disease and research is going on. The DBA Foundation is raising money to be used for research to find a cure. I have a homebound teacher since I can't go to school.

Things I like are: 1) Listening to Country Music, 2) Going to concerts, 3) Playing on my computer, 4) Watching movies and videos. Now I am learning how to play the guitar.

A few of my favorite country artists, who are also friends, are: Garth Brooks, Ty England, Tracy Lawrence, and Kenny Rogers. I have a lot more, but there is not enough room.

A couple of my favorite actors are Luke Perry and Keanu Reeves. One of my favorite movies of Luke's is "8 Seconds". I think he did a very good job of portraying Lane Frost. He even took bull riding lessons to be able to ride the bulls in the film to be more realistic. That is a good actor, as most actors would have used a double to do the dangerous stunts in film-making. I think it would be neat to be able to meet Luke one day, but he lives so far away. I can dream though. Ha.

My favorite all time movie that I have watched many times over is "Gone With The Wind". I try and watch it everytime I know it is on the television. Although I own many movies, this movie is not in my collection. I did tape it from television, but it is an edited version for television. Well, I am now the proud owner of the original box set of this movie! I was so happy to receive this gift from some dear people last Summer.

I hope you come back to visit my site often, as I plan to add more to it as I learn. Tell your friends to visit me too. Check out some of Mom and my favorite websites below. Have a nice day, and please sign my guestbook before you leave. God bless you always.

Well, 1998 is finally here, and what better way for me to ring in the New Year than with my friend, Tracy Lawrence. He was playing at Sam's Town in Robinsonville, Ms., and I was fortunate to go see him. I almost didn't make it because I got sick and spent the morning in the Little Rock Children's Clinic. The doctor gave me some medicine in my I.V. and told me that I could go as long as I followed some restrictions-- Stay off my leg and wear a mask to protect me. For more on the show, visit my page dedicated to Tracy. You can get there from my Country Music page.

Well, I hope 1998 brings us many blessings and will be a year for all of us to remember.

Well I have started collecting the real Ty Beanie Babies! So far I have a total of 31 plus the entire set of the McDonald's smaller beanie babies from the Happy Meals last year. I would love the Princess Di Bear and the Erin Bear! I think they are so cute. If you'd like to see a site on the beanie babies, I have added a link to the Official Ty Beanie Baby site on the World Wide Web.

May 15, 1998--Hurray! I finally got my Princess Di Bear and the Erin Bear. A really nice lady gave them to me last month. I also got the Valentino. As of today, my total of beanie babies stands at 55. I have 17 of the retired ones so far. I never knew there were so many of these things.

July 11, 1998--I got a chance to take a trip to Nashville, Tn. for Fan Fair, 1998 in June. I had a lot of fun there and met a lot of new people. Go and take a look at some of my pictures and some of the things that I did. I am already looking forward to Fan Fair, 1999!

December 2, 1998--Well, the year is almost coming to an end. It has been a very rough year for us. I am praying to have a Merry Christmas, despite of all the problems I am facing. Our wish for all during this Holiday Season is for Peace around the World, and Love to one another. Give thanks to God for all the blessings He has given us. May you all have a Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years! God bless you!

January 8, 1999--Welcome to 1999! We made it to a new year. We got to ring in the New Year with my best friend, Tracy Lawrence. We got to see him perform at the Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City, La., on the 31st & 1st. These were his last two shows for awhile since he will be taking some time off to go into the studios to record some new music. More updates to come soon on this trip and the holidays.

Hope you all had a great Holiday Season. I was happy just to get to be home for a few weeks. I pray that 1999 will be one of the best years yet. May God be with you all!
