Projects undertaken

Major project  :  This project which was a part of my course work was on the "Algorithms and Data analysis in Microarray Technology". I did this project at Siri Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore This project was done with collaboration of   "SilicoCyte" Team and was of duration of four months.

Projects Done at IBAB

Software

Gene-prediction tool  :  To predict the potentially active region (exon) in a given DNA sequence
This software written in 'C' predicts exon using codon usage table.
This project was done under guidance of Dr. Sudeshna Adak who is associated with GE Jhon F Welch Technology Center,  Bangalore
Conformational analysis  :  To generate the internal parametres of Biomolecules.
This program, written in ' C ', take coordinates of atoms as input
and generates various internal parameters such as bond lengths, bond angles, and torsion angles of biomolecules.
This project was done under the guidance of Prof. Manju Bansal (Director, IBAB) who is professor at Molecular Biophysics Unit of IISc, Bangalore.
Document vectorization  :  To check similarity between two documents.
This software written in ' PERL' compares two documents and then generates the percentage difference in them.
This software generates a vector space for each document and plots other texts in its vector space. The difference in the texts is the cartesian distance between the plotted texts.
This project was done under the guidance of Dr. Srinath, who is professor at IIIT,  Bangalore

Bioinformatics and Cheminformatics

Gene-prediction  :  Hidden Markov Model of prokaryotic genome incorporating Shine-Dalgarno sequence
This project was done under the guidance of Dr. Sudeshna Adak who is from GE Jhon F Welch Technology Center,  Bangalore.
Cell-signalling  :  Simulation of "metabolic Insulin pathways " using GENESIS and KKIT.

This project was done under the guidance of Dr. Upinder Singh Bhalla,  who is heading the lab of Computational Neuroscience at NCBS  (TIFR), Bangalore.
In-silico drug design  :  To design peptide based HIV-1 protease inhibitor
Software used:
Cerius2 (4.6)     Combinatorial library generation
                         Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship (QSAR)
                          Ligand-fit for Docking and Scoring.

Catalyst (4.6)     Pharmacophore based drug design

Insight II            Homology for Homology modelling
.                        Ludi for Structure based drug design.

This project was done under the guidance of Dr. Indira Ghosh who is from Astrazeneca India Research Center,  Bangalore.
Molecular Modelling  :  To study molecular dynamics of a protein.
Software used: CHARMM

This project was done under the guidance of Dr. Dhananjaya Bhattacharya, who is from Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics,  Kolkata.
