The Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology is established in year 2001 by the Government of Karnataka in association with ICICI. With the involvement of leading academic institutes and industry, IBAB aims to attain high standards in bioinformatics education and research.

Objective of IBAB:
To conduct post-graduate courses in bioinformatics, to undertake short-term training programmes, to promote the incubation of new startups in the biotech industry and to carry out research and development in the field of bioinformatics and other related areas.
