On this page I will tell you how it started to want to have my PPL license It al started when we we're on holiday in Florida 2 years ago. We met there a man named Andy who was a pilot for a newsstation. I've asked him can I make some pictures of your helicopter and that was ok with him. So I started to make a lot of pictures and he asked my about my interest for helycopters. I told him that I was flying for almost 10 years RC helicopters. That was a complete new world for him because you don't see that very often in Florida because the tempature is to high there for such kind of machines.
After a long talk he asked us to join him for a flight. We went for a flight for almost 2 1/2 hours. He took us to Lake Melbourne, Port Canaveral and to Daytona Beach. We've make there a stop for a refreshment and for fuel after that we went back to Orlando On that flight he told my a lot about helicopter flying and that was the begin of all the trouble
After our a holiday I was really crazy about that flying, a couple months later it was our 12 1/2 anniversary and my wife gave my a flying lesson for our anniversary. So we went to Lelykopters a flyingschool specialized in helycopter flying with the Robinson R22 and the Robinson R44 after that lesson I knew what I wanted I want my PPL license PPL license will say that you have you Privat Pilot License, You're allowed to fly VFR (only with daylight) in the helicopters where you've your type rating for.
I've had my first soloflight on 2 march 2002, it was a great experience. After 30 minutes flying with my instructor He told me to make a landing and after that I said now you're going by your own. He step out the helicopter and that was the moment I must do it by my own. On your first soloflight you fly a circuit around the airfield. After that I was so excited that I didn't know what to say or to do. My first soloflight was after 12 hours and that is pretty fast because most of the people do it between 18 and 22 hours.
