Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme (DEAS)

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a high quality, enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development activities for anyone aged 14-25.

The Air Training Corps is the largest operator of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE). There is a wide range of activities in the ATC, of which many count towards the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

The Award programme consists of three levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Air Cadets who meet the age criteria can join the award scheme.

The Award is widely recognized by employers as it helps demonstrate that award holders are keen to take on new challenges, have a higher level of self confidence than their counterparts, have leadership qualities with the added experience of teamwork.

Cpl Kyriacou and FS Brown recieve their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award from DJ Tony BlackburnIn the last few years, 1187 Squadron has achieved more awards than any other squadron in Herts & Bucks Wing. 1187's CWO Farrington was the first cadet in Herts & Bucks to receive the Millenium Volunteers (MV) award.
