My Family and Me
After graduating from Pittsburg Senior High School in 1972, a year later I married and became Elizabeth Hatch, and in 1982 I divorced and remarried, becoming Elizabeth Barnhill. Three years post-divorce, in early August 1997, I officially became Elizabeth Granberg once again.
Since high school, I have spent over 25 years working in some capacity as a secretary or administrative assistant in offices ranging from the Dow Chemical Western Division purchasing office, a local stationery store, a Montgomery Street corporate law firm, a university research library, a university humanities and faculty development center, and a non-profit agricultural research institute. I also ran my own business for seven years when my children were small. I still dabble in freelance webpage building and desktop publishing on a part time basis. For more detail check out my resume. As I reorganize my life, I have found that spending time with myself and rediscovering my spiritual center is very important to me. For fun, contradancing or barn dancing has become a passion that provides both a wonderful community of friends as well as some of the best aerobic exercise I've ever done. I also enjoy most kinds of needlework and sewing, especially English smocking and counted cross-stitch. In the spring semester of 2002 I began taking classes again and am pursuing a BS in Dietetics. Currently I'm going part time at Kansas State University Salina campus while still working full time. Some classes are offered by distance which helps keep up with the dietetics coursework without having to commute to Manhattan. I'm also busy with activities in the Church of the Cross United Methodist in Salina, taking a Disciple II Bible Study, and am Associate Matron in Felicity Chapter #371 Order of the Eastern Star, Lindsborg.
Most of my family is still in California in places like Alameda, Pittsburg, and Fresno. Pittsburg, the town I was raised in, has grown from the small community I remember. Check out another site on Pittsburg, CA (... yes, that's California!)
