Hiten Mitsurugi Style (Soaring Sword of the Heavens)

The Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu was a fighting style designed to attack numerous opponents at once. Those who have mastered the Hiten Misturugi Ryu are said to move at godspeed (that which the eye cannot follow), Seijuurou Hiko was the name handed down to those who mastered it. The 13th Seijuurou Hiko was Niitsu Kakunoshin, the person this site is dedicated to. Most of these techniques are deadly one-hit kills.

Key Terms

  • Battou-Jutsu=Drawing blade from saya
  • Saya=Sheathe

Note: Everything on this page was checked by Watsuki himself

Hi-Ryu-Sen(Flying Dragon Flash)- Battou-Jutsu in which the sword is partly in the saya(sheathe) and hilt is rammed into opponents open body parts.

Ryu Sou Sen(Dragon Nest Flash)-Wildy swinging sword at opponent in random slashes on opponent.

Ryu Sou Sen Garami-Similar to the Ryu Sou Sen except you jump behind them and slash at their back.

Ryu Son Sen(Spinning Dragon Flash-Used when surrounded by opponents. A lightning fast 360 degree spin to attack opponents.

Ryu Shou Sen(Rising Dragon Flash)-An uppercut in which the blade is placed under the chin and lifts up the opponent.

Ryu Tsui Sen(Dragon Hammer Flash)-Dropping head and blade first to slash the opponent across the head.

Ryu Tsui Sen Zan-Same as Ryu Tsui Sen except with a stab.

Ryu Kan Sen(Dragon Wrap Flash)-Used after counterattacking a blow. The user jumps to the opponents side and delivers a powerful blow to their back.

Ryu Kan Sen Kogarashi(Dragon Wrap Flash Winter Wind)-Performed when a few feet to the left of opponent. The fighter jumps toward the opponent with godspeed and uses a thick and painful slash in which the fighter uses the amount of force, and the deepness of a cut needed to kill multiple enemies on one target(slash to the right).

Ryu Kan Sen Tsumunji(Dragon Wrap Flash Spiral-Opposite of Ryu Kan Sen Kogarashi

Ryu Kan Sen Arashi(Dragon Wrap Flash Storm)-Doing multiple somersaults in the air the with sword extended, the fighter uses this technique to attack multiple enemies in a single file.

Sou Ryu Sen(Twin Dragon Flash)-A double Battou-Jutsu technique. The fighter draws his blade aiming to slice the opponent, and if that is blocked, he hits his opponent with his saya.

Sou Ryu Sen Ikatsuchi(Twin Dragon Flash Thunder)-A Battou-Jutsu technique in which the fighter locks his blade that is still in the saya with his opponents blade. He then unsheathes his blade and traps the opponents blade with his saya and smashes the opponent with his sword.

Do Ryu Sen(Earth Dragon Flash)-Striking the ground extremely hard with the sword to make debris fly at your opponent.

Ryu Mei Sen(Dragon Crying Flash)-Sheating the blade so fast it affects the five senses(noutou-jutsu).

Kuzu Ryu Sen(Nine-Headed Dragon Flash)-This technique is the one that Hiko is the very best at. It it pretty much the Ougi (ultimate attack) of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. It is required that you master this move before you learn the real ultimate attack. The Kuzu Ryu Sen strikes the nine most vital points of the body when aiming to kill at the same time. they are:
1. Karatake(downward stroke)
2. Kesagiri(slantwise downward stroke to the shoulder)
3. Reverse Kesagiri
4. Right Nagi(belly cut)
5. Left Nagi
6. Sakakaze(upward stroke)
7. Left upward cut
8. Right upward cut
9. Tsuki(stab to the chest)

Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki(Heaven's Soaring Dragon Inspiration)-The ultimate attack of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. It's a Battou-Jutsu technique. Usually, when performing Battou-Jutsu you step out with the foot that is on the opposite side of your saya so you dont cut it when you draw. The Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki follows that step, but also, after stepping with that foot, you step with the foot that is on the side of your saya. You risk cutting your foot, and you will if you don't put your full strength into this attack. By stepping with that extra foot, you double to power of the strike. If the first strike is blocked, the air moving in the direction of the blade will reverse causing the opponent to be dragged toward the fighter, leaving him open for another strike.
