"VIVE L'EMPEREUR, VIVE L'EMPEREUR"....... The drummers beat their drums and the French columns advance to smash through the British lines.  The British infantry would outflank the columns and could fire at the front and both sides of the columns, whereas only those French in the front few ranks of each column could return fire.

French Infantry (Left) -
Quite an impressive sight, 3 columns of 20 men, led by their lieutenants. at the front of each column are two bandsmen, either a trumpeter and drummer boy, or a cymbal player.... during a siege these boys will act as stretcher bearers.

The drums are a 2x2 round brick with a 2x2 round white tile on top, and a strip of ribbon sandwiched between the two and going round the boys neck. The drumsticks are Lego Star Wars light sabre handles.

I'm particularly fond of the French Eagles, although out of scale. These are made using an upside-down cone, epaulettes and a parrot all painted gold and mounted on a brown lance.
