325 B.C.
Shakeem leads his loyal followers to a mysterious new world.
The Zulu Nation's base of power continued to grow in the last 300 years. New cities were formed on a large continent to the west of Africa. Upon a thorough survey, Zulu explorers have determined that while this land has a lot of un-tapped potential, there is a lack of habitable land. In the center of the continent is a thick, dark and evil jungle. On the west coast is a long chain of mountains. A most treacherous combination to say the least.
A seperate band of explorers were dispatched to the north and yet another massive continent was discovered. We have literally only set foot on this new land this year (325 BC), and so we cannot say much about this continent at this time. We feel that settling here would be overstepping our boundaries, and so we've decided only to survey the land and search for treasure.........Our explorers cannot determine why, but they feel as though they are not alone on this new continent......it could not be verified, but what appeared to be human footprints have been seen here.
In the Zulu homeland, settlers improving the land are out in abundance. Several key roads have been built and local trading has began. We are happy to report that we are making our first export to the Mali homeland in the upcoming years. We sent a small band of gem bearing traders towards Timbuktu several decades ago. It is a long journey, so we don't anticipate their arrival in the Mali capital for quite some time.
A magnificent spectacle can now be seen in the coastal town of Nairobi. This spectacle will be known as the "Hanging Gardens". They give the Zulus great national pride and as a result, their production and approval rating of King Shakeem has been increased.
As Shakeem looks to the future, his priorities will soon shift to foreign affairs. The long anticipated journey to "Europe", "Israel" and "Mongolia" will finally see the light of day. We also want to send ships to the far east. There are tales that a massive civilization resides on a huge island in this region of the world, but we find such stories hard to believe. "No one can have a larger empire than ours could they?" thinks Shakeem.......
