While doing painting, I prefer subtle and free hand lines rather than straight and geometric ones. Line is for expression; form is for control. I am not sophisticated in using the traditional materials of Chinese painting, such as ink, brush and silk. Instead, I use sand, charcoal and other materials, which would recall me the poetry and spirituality of the Great Wall in China. I am not talking about style, or specific technique. I use various materials whenever appropriate.

Painting is started when it departs from the concept.
