Doing household chores, "economy of time" is the most important thing!
Every household chores should be simple to do.

My Strategies

You don't have to clean up a house with a vacuum cleaner everyday. Once a week is good enough for using a vacuum cleaner. Instead of the vacuum cleaner often, mopping the floor with some simple scrubbing things. Look at the following pictures. Those are kinds of dustcloth that I use everyday mopping the floor. First, fix a dust cloth to the mop, and scrub a floor easily. After cleaning the room, you can just dump it! It takes no more than 5 minutes. If you do it every day before you go to bed, it's o.k. to do little thing on a big cleaning day. Your room won't be like pigpen with this 5 minutes routine. ^^
You can get those products at the site of 'clexie' with inexpensive price.

Whenever you take a shower, get rid of hair from the a sink-hole and you don't need to do any special act for cleaning a bathroom. But odor comes up, then pour some detergent into the sink hole or spray them and leave them for a while. With this simple action, your bathroom stay clean enough without any odor.

The purpose of these are not to be a #1 housekeeper but to enhance the efficiency for a single student. Applying to real household, especially post-newly marriage life might not suitable.

  • Ant Repellant: To keep ants out of the house, find where the ants are entering the house and sprinkle a "barrier" of cinnamon or any type of ground pepper to block their way. The spices are too hot for the ants to cross. Cucumber peels have the same effect(Robbie's, 2004).
  • You can use vinegar to remove wall paper. First remove top layer of wallpaper. Then spray vinegar on and let stand for a minute or two. Then pull backing away. Scrape excess glue off wall. Wipe remaining glue off with vinegar and rinse with water (Virtuowl, 2003).
  • Use bread or damp cotton wool to pick up the fragments of broken glass safely (Tip King, 2004).
  • To dustproof television screen, wipe it with a fabric softener. This will eliminate static cling, and dust will be repelled instead of adhering to the screen (Robbie's, 2004).

  • Gum On Clothing: Use egg whites to remove gum on clothing. Brush egg white onto gum with a toothbrush. Let sit for 15 minutes and then launder on the items normally (Robbie's, 2004).
  • Dull leather bags will get back its shine if rubbed with a slice of lemon (Robbie's, 2004).
  • Fireplace Soot Odor: To diminish and remove this odor, after you clean out the ashes, place a shallow pan of baking soda for a few hours or overnight in the fireplace (Robbie's, 2004).
  • Smelly Shoes: Simply fill a tube sock with kitty litter, baking soda, or tea leaves; tie the end closed; and place the filled socks in the shoes when you're not wearing them. These sachets can be used over and over in any kind of shoe (Robbie's, 2004).
