The Nitpicking Guide Is Finished.
This will be my final update to this site. I want to offer a big thanks to everyone who sent in the nits they found. It's been fun these past seven months. It looks like we found just about all the significant nits in Riven there were to be found. Around April 1998 I started getting involved in the Riven "community" and became a regular presence on RivenGuild. I saw all the fan sites and wanted to start one of my own. Because I'm a nitpicker by nature (not in a bad way or anything), and I usually nitpick episodes of my favorite TV shows (anything Star Trek), I thought a site pointing out nits in Riven would be fun, and in August the Nitpicking Guide came into being. Unfortunately, I'm just not as interested in Riven, Myst and D'ni as I used to be, mainly because I have a lot of other gaming-related interests I've been getting involved with, and lately most of my gaming-time has gone to these. By way of example, I haven't really been on RivenGuild for the past four months or so, and I most likely won't be any more. With Riven more than a year old, the next "generation" has taken over, I guess you could say. I'm by no means gone from the Riven/Myst community; but I won't be around as much either. At least not until the next Cyan game! Again, a big thanks to everyone for your submissions. I'm pretty sure I got back to just about everyone who sent in nits or comments. If I forgot anybody, thine apologies--your email may have got deleted by mistake (I know some did). All of you who took the time to write made this site happen as much as I did. Sorry about the lack of updates, I've been occupied pretty good the past couple months. A few people have emailed me with some new nits. I think I got back to all of you. If I forgot anyone, thine apologies.
As some of you may already know, my next update will most likely be my last for this site. I think we've nitpicked Riven about as much as it can be nitpicked, and also I have other interests competing for my time and I've done about all I care to on the site. If someone comes up with a real whopper of a nit in the future then I'll include it, but otherwise the nitpicking guide will be done next update. It's been fun. So... One last call for nits!! |
