10. Elisha WALDROP [Twin] was born about 1773 in Newberry Co., S.C.. He died on 4 Aug 1809 in Newberry Co., S.C.. 1798 --- Sold to Wm. Anderson, 35 acres, part of 145 tract which was willed to Elisha Waldrop by his father in 1798. (This tract was mentioned in Elisha's will, Box 78, Estate #15.)

1809 --- Will of Elisha Waldrop, Newberry Probate Records, Box 78, Pkg. 200, Estate #1983 (another source says Box 78, Estate #15, W.Bk. I, p. 24), signed 12 Jul 1809, proven 4 Sep 1809. Recorded in Newberry Co., SC Will Book 2, Sec. E, 1805-1826, p. 18. Wife Phoebe and her father, William Anderson, named Executors. Legatees named: "my beloved wife Phebe, and all my children Meredith Waldrop, A.D. Waldrop (Achilles Darnal, also known as "Killis"--jd), Elisha Waldrop, William A. Waldrop."

1810 --- Phoebe in 1810 Census, Newberry Co., SC.

1813 --- Estate Sale 11 Jan 1813 Solomon Tilman Fuller, who had married Phoebe in 1813, presented a bill for boarding Wm. A. Waldrop for 9 months and for boarding Elisha Waldrop, Jr. for 1 year. The estate was settled in 1826.


Elisha is listed as a planter in the Newberry District of SC. Some of the infiormation about his children were taken from the bible of Solomon Tilman Fuller, Phebe Anderson Waldrop's second husband. (This bible is legend. "Some lady in AR is supposed to have had it, but no one knows who she is.)

Will of James Waldrop Sr. dated 25 May 1798 and proved in court 30 Jul 1799, Newberry Co., SC. proves that Elisha Waldrop was the son of James Waldrop, Sr. Probate Judges Office of Newberry Co., SC. lists his Will and children.Mary Waldrop's will: Box 20 Package 43, Estate 464 in Newberry Co., SC. and in Will in Books of Newberry Co., SC. 1805-1826 Volume 2, Section E, page 18. Also various deeds. Twin of Elijah Waldrop.

He was married to Phoebe ANDERSON (daughter of William * ANDERSON I and Elizabeth) about 1798 in Newberry Co., S.C.. Phoebe ANDERSON was born about 1772. William Anderson was executor of Elisha's Will, and was father of Phoebe Anderson Waldrop. Will signed 12 Jul 1809, proven in court 4 Sep 1809. Elisha WALDROP [Twin] and Phoebe ANDERSON had the following children:
