Legatees named: "my beloved wife Phebe, and all my children Meredith Waldrop, A.D. Waldrop (Achilles Darnal, also known as "Killis"-- Elisha Waldrop, William A. Waldrop." 1839 --- An Achilles Darnal Waldrop, resident of Randolph Co., AL, received a Federal land grant of 39 acres in Randolph Co., AL on 10 Oct 1839: Southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter, Sec. 6, Twp. 18S, Range 10e, Fract. Sect. N: (AL Land Document #4887). May or may not have been the Achilles who married Hannah Crossen. Supposedly, they were living in Benton Co. (now Calhoun Co.), AL at the time. Benton/Calhounn are separated by only a small part of Cleburne Co. -- Research of Jan Dawson.

1840 and 1850 (Fam. #325) census for Benton Co., AL. 1860 census, Roane Township, Lafayette Co., AR. Family # 314, page 47 with wife H.M. Waldrop age 48 born SC. and son W.H. Waldrop age 21.

Achilles, wife Hannah, son James & daughter Phoebe are reportedly buried in a Family Cemetery which is 5 miles south and 1/2 mile west of Highway 71 near Texarkana, Miller Co., AR. (One researcher says he was buried in Hunt Co., TX.) There is no road to this cemetery of only 5 graves, and it was almost completely destroyed about 1985 by a logging company. Descendants have not been able to find the grave. The information concerning the families of A.D. Waldrop and Wm. A. Waldrop and their children was compiled by Mrs. E.V. Waldrop, 26 Apr 1971. Her family group-sheets represent a large volume of material used in preparation for lineages compiled by H.L. Waldrop, D.D.S. in 1991-93, informant and compiler for much of this line.

Brother of Achilles and Elisha Waldrop. Brother-in-law of James Evans.

He was married to Hannah Matilda CROSSON (daughter of Alexander CROSSON) on 30 Jul 1829 in Newberry Co., S.C.. Hannah Matilda CROSSON was born on 13 Oct 1812 in Newberry Co., S.C..
