Trolls are found in Northern Europe, in the countries of Norway, Finland, Russia, and Siberia. They are among the stupidist, ugliest, and smelliest creatures you could ever approach. Trolls usually are around one to one and a half meters tall, and are covered with greasy, black hair. They think that stealing, kidnapping, and killing small animals is great fun, and do it whenever they have the chance. Most animals can outsmart them, including the Gnome, but because of the Troll's great strength and speed, an unsuspecting rabbit, or chipmunk can find itself in a very bad situation. Some reportings of Trolls stealing from Human houses have occurred over the years, but they mostly stick close to their caves where they feel more secure.

According to ancient Norwegian legends some trolls were gigants and others were small. They all had long crooked noses, only four fingers and toes on each limb, and most had long bushy tails. A few had only one eye in the middle of their foreheads, while others had two and even three heads. The trolls were night creatures, and direct sunlight could cause them to crack and turn to stone. The trolls lived to be hundreds of years old. Most were shaggy and looked a bit frightening, but they were mostly good-natured and naive. However, the wrath of the trolls was bounedless. It was therefore important to keep a good relationship with them, which in turn could be very rewarding. Even today it is well advised to keep a good relationship with the trolls. The next time you go to the forests and the mountains, just remember, they probably mean no harm. But be aware. In the twilight hours you are no longer alone....then it is you...and the trolls.

Trolls are huge, ugly, stupid, enormously strong, and deadly dangerous. They come in many varieties: Cave Trolls with green scaly skin; Hill Trolls or Ettins, who can speak human language after a fashion; and the dreaded Great Trolls or Ogres, larger and stronger and more cunning than the others. The stupidity of Trolls is proverbial; so is their strength. Trolls are stronger than horses, strong enough to flatten a man with a single blow. Fortunately, most trolls have no crafts; their weapons are rocks, tree limbs, and their enormous fists, unless they can steal or buy weapons from the Dwarfs. Ogres, however, sometimes go armed with enormous swords or axes, and some know the art of building castles or fortresses. Trolls have one major weakness: if struck directly by the rays of the sun, they are turned instantly to stone.
