Ok, I'm not going to even try to fool you, I can't cook for $%!#. But Holler needed a recipe this month so I volunteered (might as well seeing as I'm here putting the site together anyway). I thought really, really hard at what I could convince you all I knew how to make. Then it hit me... Smoothies! I actually DO know how to make those.

The best thing about Smoothies is you don't need a lot of equipment to make them... you especially don't need that big white thing some people use to make food. I think its called a stove... All you need is a knife, a cutting surface, measuring cups & spoons, plastic bags to freeze your fruits in, a refrigerator and of course a blender. You may want to get things to snazz 'em up like drink umbrellas and naked girlie stir sticks, but thats up to you. Here are two of my favorites, print this page out & save it for your next summertime Tiki Party Extravaganza!

The Classic Smoothie

Ingredients (for serving 2):
1 cup of Orange Juice
1 cup of Strawberries
2 Bananas

Preparing the Fruits:
Strawberries - Remove the hull and cut them into quarters, place in plastic bag and freeze until firm.
Bananas - Freeze your 2 bananas (peel 'em first!), slice after they are good and frozen.

Make it:
Gather up all your Ingredients... pour the orange juice in the blender along with your strawberries and bananas. Blend until smooth.

See how easy it is! So how about hittin' the Hard Stuff...

Tropical RUM Smoothie

Ingredients (for serving 2):
1/2 cup of light Coconut Milk
1/2 cup of Rum (I know, its not much. You can always add more!)
1 cup of Pineapple
1 cup of Mango
1 Banana

Preparing the Fruits:
Pineapple - Slice off top and bottom, then cut away the sides. Make sure you get all of the outer peel off... it doesn't taste very good. Cut into quarters, removing the core then dice into 1/2" pieces. Place pieces into plastic bag and freeze until firm. (If you are really lazy just buy the pineapple already diced in the can and freeze those. LOL!)
Mangos - Unfortunately these don't come in a can. You'll need to peel it, slice the fruit away from the long seed and dice. Place in plastic bag and freeze until firm.
Bananas - Freeze your peeled banana, slice after its good and frozen.

Make it:
Pour Rum and Coconut Milk in the blender along with your fruits. Blend until smooth.

So thats it! Obviously if you have more people, you just double, triple, etc. the ingredients. Now you see why I can actually accomplish making a smoothie. It doesn't even involve my trusty microwave and a pre-package dinner! Enjoy!!
