December 02, 2005: On December 16, Thomas Anders will host a charity show in his home town Koblenz (Germany). The show will showcase performances from three musicals: “We Will Rock You”, “Saturday Night Fever” and “Starlight Express” and will feature Deborah Sasson and the cast of the German stage shows. Thomas Anders himself will sing only one song during the show, the orchestra ballad “A Very Special Feeling”. Thomas wrote the song together with his text author and one of his musician friends especially for the purpose of this charity show. According to an interview Thomas Anders gave to German newspaper Rhein-Zeitung, the song will not be included on his upcoming new album because it does not fit in with the other songs on the album. The new album is scheduled for release in March. Thomas Anders will present the entire album to fans during the upcoming annual Thomas Anders Fan Party in Koblenz (Germany) on January 7.

Addendum January 01, 2006: “A Very Special Feeling” will be released as a regional single this month. The single will only be available in the shops of regional newspaper Rhein-Zeitung. Sales proceeds will go to charity.

November 04, 2005: According to an interview with Thomas Anders published in German newspaper Rhein-Zeitung, Thomas Anders is happy that the legal battle with Dieter Bohlen has come to an end even though he had hoped that Dieter Bohlen would have to pay more money to charity. However, Thomas also said that Modern Talking will always stay an important part of his life, even though there definitely will NOT be another Modern Talking comeback. In the interview, Thomas also indicates that he is hoping to release his new solo album in March next year and that the album will showcase new facets of him. For instance, he will work with a string orchestra. Furthermore, the TV show Formel Eins that is hosted by Thomas Anders was renewed for a fifth season.

October 28, 2005: Today, the legal battle between Thomas Anders and Dieter Bohlen has come to an end. Dieter Bohlen had claimed in his second book that Thomas Anders had “stolen money” by exaggerating expense reports for cost reimbursement by the record company. A previous court ruling allows the sale of Dieter Bohlen’s second book only in a revised version without the claims against Thomas Anders. Today, Dieter Bohlen and his publishing house Random House agreed to pay 60,000 euros (about $70,000 U.S.) to Thomas Anders, who agreed to give the money to charity. Originally, Thomas Anders had asked for 1 million euros.

October 21, 2005: Thomas Anders had to interrupt his Ukrainian concert tour after playing only 2 of originally 16 scheduled concerts. This is due to the tour company not meeting their financial, technical, and transport obligations. After being unable to get in contact with the head of the company via phone to resolve these problems, Thomas Anders decided to cancel the remaining concerts for now because the quality of the shows could not be assured. However, before departing the Ukraine, Thomas had an opportunity to speak with a representative of the Ukrainian government and discussed making up the cancelled shows with their support during the first half of 2006.

October 07, 2005: According to an interview “Schlager” music singer Vicky Leandros gave to German newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost, Dieter Bohlen has sent her several songs. Instead, the cooperation with Dieter Bohlen will start some time after the album release.

September 17, 2005: Earlier this week, Dieter Bohlen appeared on German TV show “Beckmann” to give an extensive interview. During the interview, Dieter Bohlen indicated that the animated movie “Dieter Bohlen – The Movie” (originally intended for German movie theaters) will likely air on German TV station RTL early next year. Asked about his recent lack of musical ambition, Dieter indicated that “about 140 chart hits” are enough for him (Dieter Bohlen actually had 116 Top 100 hits in Germany). Dieter does not intend to write any further songs for contestants/winners of the “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (DSDS) TV talent show (season 3, featuring once again Dieter Bohlen as one of the judges, will start airing in Germany in the near future). As reason, Dieter indicated that he does not want to be in a situation again like last year, where he had to write a single for DSDS winner Elli, who did not want to work with him. However, Dieter Bohlen indicated that he would re-consider if the winner of the show would come to him and ask Dieter to work with him. He also indicated that he may possibly write songs for “Schlager” music singer Vicky Leandros, who had several big hits in Germany during the 1960’ies and 70’ies.

September 17, 2005: Thomas Anders will personally perform his song “Just Dream” during the premiere of the “Fantasy” Holiday On Ice show in Vienna (Austria) on January 11 next year. In 2004 and 2005, Thomas also performed during the premier of the show in three German cities (Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne). “Holiday On Ice”, the world’s most successfull ice show, combines ice skating, music, costumes, and entertainment.

June 17, 2005: According to German newspaper Bild, Dieter Bohlen will continue to be the star of German music talent show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. The third season of the show will air later this year on German TV station RTL. According to Bild, the hosts of the show and the members of the jury will all be replaced but Dieter Bohlen will remain the star of the jury, which is judging the contestants hoping to win a recording contract. TV station RTL did not confirm the Bild report at this time.

Addendum June 24, 2004: German TV station RTL confirmed that Dieter Bohlen will continue to be one of the jury members on “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” during the show’s third season. However, Dieter Bohlen will not necessarily write the first single for the winner of the show as he has done during season one and season two. Instead, a pool of music producers (it is not clear if this will include Dieter Bohlen) will suggest songs that are individually tailored for the winning contestant. This is part of a move to broaden the musical styles represented in the show.

June 17, 2005: According to German record company Edel, all of the albums Dieter Bohlen produced for C.C. Catch during the Eighties will be re-released on CD in September of this year.  April 15, 2004: The legal battle between Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders continues. In the latest round of the ongoing series of lawsuits and counter lawsuits about Dieter Bohlen’s claim in his second book that Thomas Anders had “stolen money” by exaggerating expense reports for cost reimbursement by the record company, Dieter Bohlen appeared in front of a German court today. The presiding judge suggested that Dieter Bohlen should give a “substantial sum” to charity (up to euro 100,000) in exchange for Thomas Anders dropping his demands for a one million euro penalty for violation of his personal rights. The previous court ruling allowing the sale of Dieter Bohlen’s second book only in a revised version without the claims against Thomas Anders (due to a lack of evidence supporting Dieter Bohlen’s claims) would remain in effect. Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders will have two months to decide whether or not they want to accept the compromise suggested by the judge – if they do not accept, the court proceedings will continue.

March 12, 2005: According to a statement by Dieter Bohlen published in German newspaper Bild, he and his girl friend Estefania are expecting a baby. Dieter already has three children from a marriage with his first wife Erika.

February 26, 2005: In 2003, Thomas Anders performed two solo concerts in the United States – two concerts that ultimately contributed to the break-up of Modern Talking, because Dieter Bohlen did not approve of Thomas Anders performing Modern Talking songs without him. Now Thomas Anders is scheduled to perform again in the U.S. According to BadBoysBlue.info, Thomas Anders and Bad Boys Blue will perform in New York City on April 16 and in Chicago on April 17.

February 26, 2005: Due to the success of German music TV show “Best of Formel Eins”, which features Thomas Anders as one of the hosts of the show, the show was renewed for a fourth season. The third season of the show is currently airing on a weekly basis on German TV station Kabel 1. The new season will start airing in September.

February 26, 2005: In his second book, Dieter Bohlen claimed that Thomas Anders collaborated with a tour manager who organized Modern Talking concerts in Russia in order to exaggerate expense reports for cost reimbursement by the record company. After a German court decided in 2004, that that there is no evidence that Thomas Anders exaggerated any expense reports, Thomas filed a second lawsuit in October last year, seeking a penalty of one million euros for violation of his personal rights. Last week, a court in Berlin (Germany) ruled in Dieter Bohlen’s favor without granting Thomas Anders any money. The presiding judge indicated that he feels the amount of money Thomas is seeking demonstrates that the lawsuit was only a “PR gag”. The judge further indicated “no average person would take comments by Dieter Bohlen serious”. The previous court order, ruling that Dieter Bohlen’s second book can only be sold in a revised version without the accusations against Thomas Anders, remains in effect. In addition, Thomas Anders has the right to contest the new court ruling.

Therefore, no new album will be released during the next few months (a new album is tentatively planned for the second half of this year. Thomas is planning to release a live DVD in autumn this year and there is a chance that a CD or DVD with Christmas songs may be released as well. After the party, Thomas gave a two and a half hour concert for the estimated 800 fans that had come to the party. Here is the track list of the songs Thomas performed during the concert: 1) Tonight Is The Night 2) Independent Girl 3) In 100 Years 4) King Of Love 5) Night To Remember 6) Love Is Forever 7) TV Makes The Superstar 8) No Face, No Name, No Number 9) You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul (Ballad Version) 10) I Will Follow You 11) Road To Higher Love 12) Just Dream (RMX Version) 13) You Can Win If You Want 14) Live Your Dream 15) This Time 16) Win The Race 17) China In Her Eyes 18) How Deep Is Your Love 19) Barry Manilow Medley (Mandy, I Write The Song, Can’t Smile Without You, and others) 20) Geronimo’s Cadillac 21) Brother Louie 22) Cheri Cheri Lady 23) Just Dream (Ballad Version) 24) Jet Airliner 25) Atlantis Is Calling 26) You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul 27 When Will I See You Again (Accapella).
