If the name Billy Branigan sounds familiar to you it should, he's the younger brother of singer Laura Branigan. Billy recorded an album titled "MAKE A MOVE" back in 1987 and had released the single "Maybe Tonite" and had a song featured on the soundtrack of "Jumping Jack Flash" starring Whoopi Goldberg. In 1993 Billy helped out his sister Laura on her album titled "OVER MY HEART", in which he had arranged, produced, co-wrote, and performed lead guitar and background vocals on the album. Billy has also performed with a group called "BRAGDADDY" (first called THE NINES). featuring Billy Branigan on vocals and Brad Craig on guitar.
The Nines started out more or less as an acoustic duo with Billy Branigan on vocals and guitar and Brad Craig on lead guitar. The duo enjoyed a good deal of success at the Sin-e club in NYC Soon a full band was formed, and The Nines (predecessor to Bragdaddy) were born.
Billy Branigan is building a New recording studio in NYC with several production rooms that all tie in to the main "live room". (that's where the drums, amps, mic's, etc. are). His goal is to create a place where different producers/arrangers/engineers/writers/artists can work separately on their own stuff but can also network/jam and "cross pollinate" their creative ideas with each other. This will allow him to work and network with his own production/arranging/writing projects as well. Billy is also forming a music publishing and a record company under the same roof. Mr. Branigan has no name just yet for the new company. So right now, they are without a proper name. Actually, every alternative name Billy has come up with, some one else has already claimed it! But he is working on it.
