Samuel Leroy Jackson was born on December 21, 1948. Jackson has been acting for some time, but got his break in 1991 where he played a crack head named Gator in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever. Which won him a special jury award at the Cannes Film Festival for best supporting actor. After Jungle Fever he played small roles in some big movies such as Patriot Games and Jurassic Park among some others. In 1994 he co-starred in Pulp Fiction playing Jules Winnfield a hit man. After the success of Pulp Fiction Jackson started getting more much deserved attention. Like all great actors he has the ability to totally become the character. In 1996 he was nominated for his second Golden Globe for his performance in A Time to Kill, and the rumor is he will be in the new Star Wars movie. Jackson is teaming up with Quentin Tarintino again in Jackie Brown which is out now.
