Rivers of blood flow in this meandering saga, shot in Murk-o-Vision, about a principled triad boss (Jeff Lau) who's set up for elimination by his own organization after he's outlived his usefulness. Bullets and spent shells fly everywhere in this one. Ekin is a traid boss who was framed by Jeff Lau and was forced to hide in Mainland China where he almost got killed. Chingmy Yau (finally) evolves into a top-flight HK actress in her heroic/romantic/tragic role as the Ekin's fiancée. It is quite a serious and sad movie. As a matter of fact it was very serious toward the beginning with Lau Ching-wan finding out about his daughter being abused and Ekin dying at the end…
